Another fun Dollar Tree find!

My son loves to sit on little chair his mini size. This little stool I found for $1. He loves it. Perfect height for him to sit on without any help. I'm thinking in a year or so it will be perfect for his bathroom. It will help him reach the sink to brush his teeth and wash his hands. I may even need to buy myself one for my kitchen.

Dollar Tree

I'm not shy to admit that I LOVE Dollar Tree. You can find some really great stuff inside. I have a few staples in my home that I buy from Dollar Tree that I can't live without. It is fun to walk around and see what they have. You have to look past all the actual JUNK that they do sell, and enjoy the fun finds.

I'm big in to bright colors recently, so when I cam across this bowl I couldn't pass it up. It is a big serving bowl, or as you can see I keep my fruit inside. (Yes, those Banana's need to be made into Banana bread!)

I fell in love with this laundry basket as soon as I saw it. It goes perfect in my little guys closet. I had to get him a couple. They are perfect size for his little cloths, and don't take up much room like the others I had.

Anyone else love this store? I would love to hear about your finds!

Want to see more, look out for my future Dollar Tree posts.

Altering Cloths

I found this cute shirt while out shopping and I loved it enough to buy a XL. The length was perfect, it was just really wide.

All I did was take each side in about an inch. It was super easy! I have never altered any of my cloths before. The thought used to scare me. I'm glad I gave it a try, because now I have a new favorite shirt. :)

Finished look, actually my size now.

Green Smoothie

I've been informed of this Green Challenge from this fun food blog. I wanted to give it a try, but didn't want to commit to the 30 days. I guess you could say I'm doing a "trial run".
I make smoothies ALL the time, but never added Spinach to mine. The color doesn't really look appealing. Here is my first attempt, and it was a success! My plan is to start this 30 Green Challenge in about a week. Who wants to join?

-I added-

Strawberry Yogurt
Apple Sauce
Milk
Banana
Honey
Frozen Blueberries
Frozen Strawberries
Frozen Pineapple
and last, but not least SPINACH

The color turned out great, and I couldn't even taste the Spinach. I think it was the Blueberries that helped counteract the color. I'm excited to try again.

I want to know your experiences with Green Smoothies. Please tell me you success stories. And I'd love to have support in my Green Challenge. Who wants to do it with me?

iStockphoto=great talent

I could spend hours upon hours looking at the amazing talent on iStock. It's an amazing site where people upload images they take, or design/create. You can also pay to download any image that you see or like, and print or use for personal use.

I have several family members who have amazing talent and have been uploading images for years. It's a hard site to become a member on and each photo has to be approved and liked by them. So there's a lot more to it then it may seam.

Spend some time looking at the links below, you won't be disappointed at what you see.

When we move into our new home this black and white print will have a home on my wall. My brother designed it along with a few similar matching ones.

above and below photo designed by drlogan (take the link and look at his amazing designs)

Amazing huh? Here are a few of my favorite members below.

Quilting is on my mind..

I was at my friends house last night who is AMAZING, and I truly mean this at quilting. She has been making quilts since High School. She has been working on some awesome new projects. It couldn't help but to inspired me to finish, (yes sadly after a year) my baby quilt I started for my son. I need to attach the back of my quilt. She was so kind to invite me over to finish it with her :) I honestly can't wait to have her professional touch on this quilt. Did I mention I was exited to finish? Yes, starting at this poor quilt top for over a year is getting to me. Soon my babes can have a cozy quilt.

Not your average quilt colors for a baby boy quilt? I didn't want the average baby blue quilt!
Still need convince my husband of that :)

I made this quilt after I had my baby. Honestly SUPER easy!! I will post how to make this on my blog later on. It probably only took a couple hours total.

Free Time

I forget how much I love making jewelry until I'm actually doing it. It's hard getting all the stuff out, but once I do I could stay busy for hours. I told my sister I would make her a bracelet, and ended up making another plus earrings. My goal is to sell on Etsy, which is hard because it's full of creative people and there are thousands of listed items. I do plan on listing several items again soon. Stay tuned! ;)

4th of July Treat

I guess this could be called Fruit Pizza!!

It is super EASY and yummy!

*Spread refrigerated cookie dough on a cookie sheet, and bake. (could make you own)
*Mix Cream Cheese, and Marshmallow Puff together (I didn't at first and it was a mess!) I also used Strawberry Cream Cheese instead of regular, it added some flavor.
*The cookie should be cooled before you spread it on.
*You can apply any fruit you want, I stuck with the theme for the holiday.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie "CAKE"

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie "Cake"
4 cups Flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp Salt
6 Tbsp Butter, Softened
1 1/2 cups packed Light Brown Sugar
3/4 cup granulated Sugar
3 tsp pure Vanilla Extract
2 large Eggs, plus 2 Egg Yolks
3/4 cup Heavy Cream
3 cups Semisweet or Milk Chocolate Chips

Cream Cheese Filling
4 Packages Cream Cheese, room temperature (I used Neufchatel)
1-1 1/2 cups Confectioners Sugar
2 Tbsp Butter, room temperature
1 tsp Vanilla
1 cup Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate chips, melted (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Put butter and brown and granulated sugars into mixer bowl; mix on medium until pale and fluffy. Mix in vanilla, eggs, and yolks. Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture in 2 batches, alternating with the cream. Stir in Chocolate chips.
2. For each of the 7 layers, drop 1 level cup batter onto center of a baking sheet lined with parchment (keep unbaked dough refrigerated.) Spread batter with wet hands or a spoon into a 8-inch circle. Bake until edges are pale golden brown, about 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Use offset spatula to reshape circle. Return to oven; bake until edges are golden brown. 8-10 minutes more. Transfer to wire rack; let cool. Can be stored airtight up to 1 day.
3. Mix cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and confectioners' sugar on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy. Add melted chocolate if desired and mix until just incorporated. Spread onto 4 cookies stack cookies, placing unfrosted cookie on top refrigerate until frosting is set, at least 20 minutes or up to 4 hours. Serve at room temperature. Enjoy!

A few alterations I would make
-use less chocolate chips
-use milk chocolate chips
-It's really rich, so I would also use vanilla frosting instead, maybe. I will have to experiment. I loved the cookie part. I just may not make as many layers as I did this time.

Drink with milk, and serve with Ice Cream!!! It's really yummy and fun to make.

Strawberry Freezer Jam

Freezer Jam is my new favorite thing... and not to mention SUPER yummy tasty!!

Here are two different types of containers that you could use to store your Jam. The ones on the left are cheaper and hold a little more than the Ball container on the right.

The most consuming part is washing and coring the Strawberries.

The recipe is SUPER EASY!!!!! Here you go....

STRAWBERRY FREEZER JAM
1 package Ball-No Cook Freezer Jam Pectin (photo below)
1 1/2 cups Sugar
4 Cups blended Strawberries (I use 6 to make it less thick)

You need about 4-6 containers to store them in.

Enjoy!!!! And I'm sure you will.. I have no question about that.

Crocodile Cake

Here is my son's 1st birthday cake. I had so much fun making this cake. What is it about crocodiles that I love??
